The instrument should be sent in with all of the accessories that are used with it in order to properly assess its performance and electrical safety. Remember to include Power Cords, Ultrasound Transducers, Patient Cables, Electrodes, External Power Supplies, any parts that have broken off, etc
Prior to shipping your instrument to us, please call the office at the number listed above to discuss the problem you are having. In some instances, we have been able to walk customers through a solution over the phone. If we cannot solve your problem over the phone, the instruments should be carefully packed using an appropriate amount of protective foam and or bubble wrap. If the box that you are going to ship the unit in has visible signs of damage please use a different one. If your facility does not have the necessary materials to ship the instrument you can take it to the nearest "pack and ship" type store and they will take care of it. The amount of time a repair takes will vary depending on the complexity of the repair and the age of the instrument. Typically a unit is assessed and you are contacted within 5 business days of your unit arriving at our facility.
AFI has a large inventory of loaner instruments available at very reasonable rates. We can usually ship a loaner instrument out to your facility on the same day you contact us about the repair. Please call us at the number listed above to coordinate a loaner.
